Spice For Life, LLC is a woman-owned social enterprise started by a professor, a lawyer and a business person to encourage healthy eating and provide opportunities to women touched by human trafficking issues. Our mission is (1) to provide customers with an extensive array of fresh spices and spice blends, many of which will be ground on site, to encourage home cooking and healthier eating, thus fostering more family time, and (2) to contribute back to the community by donating our profits to nonprofit organizations in Northeast Ohio that work to prevent human trafficking and support its victims.
Spice for Life & The Renee Jones Empowerment Center
The founders of Spice for Life, LLC have chosen Renee Jones Empowerment Center as the initial beneficiary of their social enterprise mission. RJEC is a local 501(c ) (3) organization which focuses much of its efforts on advocacy and support for the survivors of human trafficking. RJEC also works directly with members of the judicial system and law enforcement, as well as local social service providers and charities in connecting victims to the Center. With offices in Cleveland’s Gordon Square neighborhood, RJEC staff and volunteers provide free life skills coaching, benefit services, legal services, support groups and other services. RJEC’s track record of providing these services in our community for more than 15 years made it an obvious choice for Spice for Life’s support.
