Ingredients
1 c. Milk (or nondairy substitute)
¼ c. Hot water
1 1/2 TBS. Cacao Powder
2 TBS. White sugar
1 TBS. Light Brown Sugar
½ TBS. Vietnamese Cinnamon
½ TBS. Annatto
1 pinch Salt
1 pinch Cayenne Chile Powder
Directions
Put all the spices in a medium saucepan. Turn on the stove to medium heat and whisk in the hot water until you create a homogenous mixture.
Simmer and reduce mixture by half, stirring as needed to prevent scorching or burns.
Slowly pour and whisk in the milk. Simmer for 5 minutes and stir often. Do not bring to a boil, adjust heat as needed.
After 5 minutes, do a taste test and add more sugar as need. Pour into a mug and allow it to cool for a few minutes, it will be very hot.
